Friendship Cafes
Friendship Cafes are gathering spots where seniors can enjoy a nutritious meal and fellowship with others their own age. Seniors can meet with old friends and make new ones. At the cafe, they enjoy diverse activities that help them remain active and connected to their communities. Friendship cafes are located throughout the Piedmont region, and are open to seniors age 60 and older, who are independently mobile and not homebound. Seniors who attend the cafes should be physically, mentally and medically independent and able to get around without assistance. They should also live independently in a private residence and not be residents of an adult care, assisted living or nursing home facility.
