Caregivers Need Care Too
At some point in our lives, many of us may find ourselves caring for an aging loved one, whether it's a parent, a spouse, a friend or a neighbor. Caregiving can happen gradually over time or it can happen suddenly, from an illness or accident. Balancing caregiving with employment and family, can leaves caregivers feeling overwhelmed and stressed, putting them at risk for depression and other health issues. While supporting loved ones, caregivers must also take care of themselves to avoid becoming physically, mentally and spiritually drained.
PSR offers services to support caregivers, and provides information that will help them adjust to their new role and better care for their loved ones, and themselves.
