 FARMVILLE, Va. (September 1, 2023) – With a mission to simplify Medicare's multifaceted offerings, Farmville-based Piedmont Senior Resources Area Agency on Aging (PSR) announces its annual Medicare Open Enrollment event for seniors in Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward counties. Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15 to December 7, 2023 at PSR at 1413 S. Main Street in Farmville. Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) counselors can help all Medicare beneficiaries, including those with disabilities and younger than 65, explore options that best meet their needs.
"For many seniors, the maze of Medicare can seem daunting, filled with choices that impact their healthcare and well-being,” said April Ross, PSR’s insurance coordinator. “The Medicare Open Enrollment period allows all beneficiaries to make changes year after year to ensure they get the most from what Medicare offers." Dedicated to supporting seniors, PSR ensures that this event offers comprehensive guidance on Medicare. All services will be provided by certified VICAP counselors. Participants can expect offerings such as Part D (Drug) prescription plan comparison, assistance in changing prescription drug coverage, information on supplemental plans such as Medigap, assistance in switching from a Medicare Advantage plan back to original Medicare and assistance in applying for extra help. Medicare Open Enrollment is just one of many services that PSR offers each and every year to support seniors and their families.
